- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

1. Check your items

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

4. Shipping

The Arc'teryx Covert Cardigan Women's is a midweight fleece mid-layer made from 340 gsm Alpenex™ II recycled polyester, built for hiking and other low-output mountain days. It layers over a base layer and under a ski or hardshell jacket, and works on its own as a warm top layer in dry weather. This is the revised version: the fabric was updated for better abrasion and pilling resistance, and the cut moved from fitted to regular.
Who is this fleece for?
The Covert Cardigan Women's suits a woman who wants one durable, sweater-like fleece for hiking, for wearing under a shell on the hill and for everyday cool weather, and who prefers a relaxed regular cut to a close athletic fit. It is not the piece for rain, wet snow or sustained wind as an outer layer, because there is no membrane and no wind-blocking layer. It is also not for high-output days where a thin grid fleece is wanted, and it has no hood.
How warm is the Arc'teryx Covert Cardigan Women's?
Warmth comes from the fabric alone: 340 gsm Alpenex™ II fleece, 100% polyester with recycled content, with no separate insulation and no fill. At 420 g the garment sits clearly above a lightweight grid fleece, which means steady warmth on cold walks and under a shell, and a real chance of overheating when you push hard uphill. The fleece is air-permeable, so moisture vapour moves out rather than sitting against your base layer.
Which size should you choose?
Regular fit, cut through chest, waist, hip and thigh, with a centre back length of 60 cm in size S. Customers consistently report this version as roomy and boxy through the body, so if you want a close sweater fit or you are between sizes, take one size down. Stay in your usual size if you plan to wear a thick midlayer underneath. One customer also found the sleeves and armholes snug while the body was large, so broader shoulders should not size down. How is the Covert Cardigan Women's constructed?
The construction of the Arc'teryx Covert Cardigan Women's is deliberately simple: one fabric, no membrane, no fill. The body is Alpenex™ II fleece at 340 gsm, a 100% polyester knit with recycled content that stretches and resists abrasion, so it copes with pack rub on the shoulders and rock snags on a scramble. There are three zip closures for storage – two hand pockets and one on the sleeve – and nothing else that adds bulk. Total garment weight is 420 g. On the revised version Arc'teryx updated this fabric for improved abrasion and pilling resistance; customer opinion on the new fabric is split, with some reporting quicker pilling than on the earlier generation.
Is the Covert Cardigan Women's suitable for ski touring or freeriding?
Use the Covert Cardigan Women's as a mid-layer on the lift-served day and as a warm layer at the hut, not as a touring engine. Under a hardshell on a cold resort day the 340 gsm fleece gives you real warmth with nothing to manage. On a ski tour or a hard freeride lap it is the wrong tool: 340 gsm fabric and 420 g of garment hold too much heat for sustained climbing, there is no powder skirt or hood, and the fabric is too thick to stuff into a ski pack when you strip off. Keep it for hiking, cool-weather days in town, hut trips and travel, and reach for a thinner fleece when the output goes up. Customers also note there is no hem drawcord, so draughts are not sealed out at the waist.
What is the fabric and how do you care for it?
Body: Alpenex™ II fleece, 340 gsm, 100% polyester with recycled content. A single-fabric polyester fleece is the easy end of technical laundry – machine wash on low, tumble dry on low, and skip the fabric softener, which coats the pile and flattens the loft that keeps you warm. Do not bleach, do not iron and do not dry clean. Wash the dark colourways, Black Heather and Earth Heather, separately. Black Heather is a plain black with a heathered, melange yarn effect rather than a flat dye.
How sustainable is this fleece?
The Covert Cardigan Women's is made with recycled content in the body, uses bluesign® approved materials and is PFAS compliant. It is sewn in a Fair Trade Certified™ facility in An Giang, Vietnam. Arc'teryx notes that the fabric may release plastic microfibres into the environment during washing, so wash it only when it needs it.
