Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

4. Shipping
Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.
Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.
Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.
5. Refund
You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.
This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.
Please note! If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

- Air-permeable four-way-stretch woven softshell
- Helmet-compatible hood, single-pull adjuster
- FC0-DWR finish: fluorocarbon-free, PFAS compliant
- Water repellent only: wets out in steady rain
- No insulation, so no warmth of its own
- No stuff pocket; rolls into its hood instead
The Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody is an uninsulated men's softshell jacket built for hiking and rock climbing in mild mountain weather. It uses an air-permeable, four-way-stretch woven softshell with an FC0-DWR fluorocarbon-free water-repellent finish, so it turns away wind and light showers while still letting air pass through the fabric. The hood is cut to fit over a climbing helmet and the patterning is articulated, which is what separates this jacket from a plain wind layer.
Who is the Gamma Lightweight Hoody for?
This is a jacket for the hiker, scrambler or rock climber who wants a very light, stretchy outer layer for dry to showery days and accepts carrying a separate waterproof shell for real rain. It also works as a travel and everyday layer in changeable conditions. The Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody is not resort ski kit: there is no powder skirt, no pass pocket and no snow-specific hardware, and it is not meant to be your only jacket in winter.
How much weather does the Gamma Lightweight Hoody keep out?
Water repellent, not waterproof. The FC0-DWR finish on the Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody beads light rain and wet snow for a while, but there is no membrane and no taped seams, so sustained or heavy rain will eventually soak through. The flip side is airflow: the woven softshell is air-permeable, which keeps the inside from feeling clammy on cool, breezy days. It carries no insulation at all, so its warmth is entirely the warmth of what you wear under it.
Which size should you choose?
Arc'teryx cuts the Gamma Lightweight Hoody in a Regular fit: comfortable through chest, waist, hip and thigh, with room to pull it over a base layer or a light fleece. This men's version is offered in M, L and XL. Measure your chest and sleeve length and compare them with the Arc'teryx men's tops size chart rather than judging the cut from photos.
How is the Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody constructed?
The Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody is a woven softshell with four-way stretch and no membrane and no insulation between you and the weather. Protection comes from the weave itself plus an FC0-DWR fluorocarbon-free durable water repellent finish on the face of the fabric; airflow comes from the fact that the construction is deliberately air-permeable. Articulated patterning through the shoulders and elbows keeps the sleeves in place when you reach overhead, and the stretch binding at the cuffs seals the sleeve without a hook-and-loop tab. The hood takes a single-pull drawcord adjuster and clears a climbing helmet, and a drawcord at the hem shuts out draughts.
Is the Gamma Lightweight Hoody suitable for skiing or ski touring?
No. Treat the Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody as a hiking, cragging and general mountain layer. On a summer or shoulder-season day it handles wind on a ridge, a passing shower and a cool belay, and the two zippered chest pockets stay reachable under a pack hipbelt or a harness. Where it stops is clear: with no waterproof membrane it wets through in a downpour, with no insulation it adds no warmth when you stand still, and in snowfall or wet snow at a resort it is the wrong tool. For lift-served skiing or freeride you want a hardshell and an insulating layer instead. In colder dry weather, use it as the outer layer over a fleece or a light synthetic midlayer. Note also that there is no stuff pocket; the jacket is rolled into its own hood to pack it down.
How do you wash and care for the Gamma Lightweight Hoody?
Machine wash the Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody on a low temperature, wash dark colours separately and run a double rinse so no detergent residue is left in the fabric. Skip the fabric softener, which coats the face fabric and blunts the DWR finish, and skip bleach and dry cleaning. Tumble dry on low heat on a normal cycle; the gentle heat helps revive the water repellency. If the jacket needs pressing, iron on low. Washing does release plastic microfibres into the water system, so wash it only when it actually needs it.
What does the Gamma Lightweight Hoody do on sustainability?
The Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody is PFAS compliant and its water-repellent finish is fluorocarbon-free. Shell and lining are listed as bluepass materials, and the jacket is made with materials produced through processes that meet bluesign criteria. The model also carries a Fair Trade Certified designation for its sewing.
