- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.
STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

4. Shipping

The Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody Women's is an uninsulated softshell jacket for hiking, rock climbing and general all-mountain days in dry to showery weather. It is built from a woven double-weave fabric with four-way mechanical stretch and a water-repellent DWR finish, with no waterproof membrane, so air passes straight through the fabric instead of through a laminate. That makes it a breathing layer for moving uphill, not a hardshell for storms.
Who is the Gamma Lightweight Hoody for?
It suits a woman who hikes, crags or climbs in mountain weather that stays mostly dry, and who wants one stretchy, close-fitting layer for wind, sun and the occasional shower. The Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody Women's is not the jacket for sustained rain, for standing around in the cold without insulation, or for lift-served and deep-snow skiing: there is no powder skirt, no snow-specific detailing and no RECCO reflector.
How weatherproof and breathable is it?
Breathability comes from the construction rather than from a spec sheet: the softshell is air permeable by design, which is why there are no pit zips. The same property makes it wind resistant rather than windproof. The DWR finish sheds light precipitation, but with no membrane and no taped seams the fabric wets out in prolonged rain, so pack a waterproof shell for days that look unsettled.
Which size should you choose?
Arc'teryx cuts this as a Fitted garment: close through chest, waist and hip, with room for a base layer or light first layers only. Customers report it runs true to size, so take your usual size and check the women's tops size chart. Broad shoulders are the one tight spot, so if yours are, consider the next size up. Offered in S, M and L.
How is the Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody Women's constructed?
The jacket is a single-fabric softshell: a woven double weave with mechanical four-way stretch, cut without insulation and without a membrane. The stretch comes from the weave itself, so the fabric moves with you rather than relying on a loose cut. Patterning does the rest of the work. The sleeves and body are articulated, and the underarms are gusseted, which keeps the hem from lifting when you reach overhead on rock or push with poles. The low-profile adjustable StormHood, elasticized cuffs and elasticized hem keep the silhouette tight so the Gamma Lightweight Hoody can also sit under an outer shell.
Is the Gamma Lightweight Hoody suitable for hiking and climbing?
Yes, that is what it was patterned for. On long hiking days the air-permeable fabric vents continuously, so the Arc'teryx Gamma Lightweight Hoody Women's works as a light outer layer in wind and sun and as a breathable layer over a base layer when the temperature drops. Climbing and bouldering are equally within its brief: the stretch and the gusseted underarms allow full range of motion, and the trim hood stays out of the way. Where it stops is clear. Steady rain will soak it. Cold without a warm layer underneath will not be solved by the jacket, because it adds wind protection and nothing else. And if you want to cinch the waist to stop a jacket riding over the hips, this is not the model: the hem is elastic only, with no drawcord or internal cinch, which is the most common criticism from owners.
What are the pockets and the fit details?
Two zippered hand pockets, and that is the full pocket count. There is no chest pocket and no internal pocket listed, so plan where your phone and skins go on a longer day. If you prefer a heavier, more wind- and abrasion-resistant hand feel, the standard Gamma Hoody is the better choice; this lightweight version trades some substance for breathability and packability in a trim silhouette.
How do you wash and care for this softshell?
Machine wash on a low temperature, double rinse and tumble dry on low to help the water-repellent finish recover. Wash dark colours separately and skip fabric softener, which clogs the fabric and reduces both repellency and air permeability. Do not bleach, do not dry clean, and iron on low only if needed. As with other synthetic softshells, the fabric can release plastic microfibres into the environment during washing, so wash it only when it needs it.
