More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 1.5 L in 165 g, waist, crossbody or shoulder
- 600d recycled polyester body, PFAS-compliant DWR
- Spacermesh padded back panel for ventilation
- Not waterproof; DWR sheds light moisture only
- 1.5 L: no room for a tablet or a laptop
- Surface clean only; strap cannot be removed
The Arc'teryx Mantis 1 Waist Pack is a 1.5 L unisex pack that can be worn at the waist, across the body or over the shoulder, built for everyday carry and short hikes. It weighs 165 g and measures 15 x 21 x 8 cm externally, which makes it a phone-wallet-keys pack rather than a day pack. The body is a 600d DTY rePET plain weave in 100% recycled polyester with a PFAS-compliant FC0 DWR finish.
Who is the Mantis 1 Waist Pack for?
The Arc'teryx Mantis 1 Waist Pack suits you if you carry a phone, wallet, keys and a transit pass on walks, commutes and travel days, or if you want a secondary pack alongside a larger backpack. It is not a ski bag: no snowsport features, no RECCO, no insulation. Nothing bulkier than the 15 x 21 x 8 cm compartment fits, so a tablet or a laptop is out.
How weather-resistant is the Mantis 1 Waist Pack?
The FC0 DWR finish on the body and the lining of the Arc'teryx Mantis 1 Waist Pack sheds light moisture, so a short shower or dry snow on the surface is no problem. The pack itself is not waterproof and not weather resistant. Anything that has to stay dry in sustained rain belongs in a dry bag inside it.
Which size should you choose?
The Arc'teryx Mantis 1 Waist Pack comes in one size (NS), so judge it by the numbers: 1.5 L of capacity in a 15 x 21 x 8 cm body, 165 g on the scale, and an integrated adjustable webbing strap you can set tight on the hips or long enough to sit crossbody over a jacket. Several owners find 1.5 L smaller than they expected; if you also want to carry a bottle or a compact camera, the larger Mantis 2 Waist Pack is the next step up. The strap is permanently attached.
How is the Arc'teryx Mantis 1 Waist Pack built?
The Arc'teryx Mantis 1 Waist Pack is a single-compartment 1.5 L pack with a 600d DTY rePET plain weave body and a 200d dope dyed plain weave lining, both finished with FC0 DWR. Storage is split over four places: a zippered front pocket with a key clip, an open stash pocket and a zippered security pocket inside the main compartment, and a stash pocket on the back panel sized for a smartphone and a transit pass. The back panel is padded with Spacermesh, which keeps a ventilating gap between the pack and your hip or chest. An integrated adjustable webbing strap sets the carry position; the whole pack weighs 165 g.
Is the Mantis 1 Waist Pack a good travel and commuting bag?
Travel days and commutes are where the Arc'teryx Mantis 1 Waist Pack works hardest: passport, phone, cards and keys stay reachable on the front of your body while a larger bag goes over your shoulders, and the back-panel stash pocket keeps a transit pass separate from the main compartment. On short hikes it carries the small essentials without a shoulder harness. It stops at 1.5 L and at 15 x 21 x 8 cm, which rules out a tablet, a laptop or a full day's kit, and it is not intended as your only pack on a long day out. There are no snowsport, climbing or hydration features of any kind, and no padded or hardshell compartment: the soft back-panel stash pocket is the only protection a phone gets. One owner also reports that the loose stash pocket inside the main compartment does not always stay in place.
What is the Mantis 1 Waist Pack made of and how do you clean it?
Both fabrics of the Arc'teryx Mantis 1 Waist Pack are 100% polyester: a 600d DTY rePET plain weave body and a 200d dope dyed plain weave lining, each carrying an FC0 DWR treatment that makes water bead rather than soak in. Care is deliberately restrictive. Surface clean only: do not machine wash, do not tumble dry, do not bleach, do not dry clean and do not iron. In practice that means dealing with marks locally with a damp cloth as they happen, rather than letting a stain set and hoping a wash cycle will lift it later.
What makes the Mantis 1 Waist Pack more sustainable?
The body fabric of the Arc'teryx Mantis 1 Waist Pack is 100% recycled polyester (rePET), and the pack contains materials produced through processes that meet bluesign criteria. The DWR finish is PFAS compliant. On the colourways with a dope dyed lining, the dyeing process uses significantly less water and energy than conventional dyeing. The pack is sewn in a Fair Trade Certified facility, SUNGJIN INC VINA CO LTD in Vietnam. As with any synthetic fabric, the material can release plastic microfibres into the environment when washed, which is one more reason the surface-clean-only instruction is worth following.
