Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
  • Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
  • Returns are at your own risk and expense.
  • If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
  • If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

4. Shipping

Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.

Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.

Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.

5. Refund

You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.

This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.

Please note! If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

Product information
  • 16 L panel-load compartment opens flat
  • Framed back panel with aluminium stay
  • Sleeve takes a 13-inch laptop or bladder
  • DWR finish only, no waterproof construction
  • 14-inch laptops need the larger Mantis 26
  • Surface clean only, cannot be machine washed

The Arc'teryx Mantis 16 Backpack is a 16-litre unisex daypack built for the commute, for travel and for a light day hike. A panel-load main compartment opens wide so you can see and reach the whole load at once, while an inner sleeve holds a 13-inch laptop or a hydration bladder. What sets it apart from a soft city bag is the suspension: a padded back panel with a frame sheet and an aluminium stay that carries the weight instead of letting it sag against your spine.

Who is the Mantis 16 for?

Choose the Arc'teryx Mantis 16 Backpack if you want one compact, well-organised pack for daily carry, for travel and for the occasional light trail day. It is not the pack for ski touring, freeride or alpine climbing: there is no ski, snowboard, ice-axe, rope or helmet carry and no separate avalanche-tool compartment. It is also not a school or university pack for books, laptop and lunch together, and 14-inch and larger laptops belong in the bigger Mantis 26.

How much does 16 litres actually carry?

Sixteen litres is a commute and light-hike volume. Laptop, lunch, a light shell and a bottle in the stretch mesh side pocket is a comfortable day. Add trail food and a spare insulating jacket and the Mantis 16 is at its limit. Water resistance comes from an FC0 DWR finish on shell and lining, which is PFAS compliant and sheds light showers, so anything that must stay dry in sustained rain needs a dry bag or a liner inside.

What size is the Arc'teryx Mantis 16 Backpack?

The Mantis 16 comes in one size (OSFA), so there is no body-measurement chart to work through. Carry is tuned with the ergonomic shoulder straps, the adjustable sternum strap and the removable waist belt, which you can take off entirely for a cleaner profile in town.

How is the Arc'teryx Mantis 16 Backpack constructed?

The Arc'teryx Mantis 16 Backpack is a single-compartment panel-load design rather than a top-loading rucksack: the main zip runs around the face of the pack so it opens flat. Behind it sits an inner sleeve for a small laptop or a hydration bladder, a zipped internal security pocket with a key clip, and a top lid pocket for the items you grab without stopping. The back panel is padded and supported by a frame sheet with an aluminium stay, which gives the pack its shape when it is only half full and keeps hard edges off your back. Ergonomic shoulder straps, an adjustable sternum strap, a removable waist belt and a top grab handle complete the carry system.

Is the Mantis 16 suitable for day hiking or for the mountains?

On a light trail day the Mantis 16 works well: the framed suspension and bladder-compatible sleeve handle a few hours of walking with water, layers and food. The limit is volume rather than comfort, and owners report that the pack fills quickly once a full day of food and a spare insulating jacket go in. For winter mountain use it stops earlier. Arc'teryx lists no ski or snowboard carry, no ice-axe or rope attachment, no helmet holder and no dedicated avalanche-tool compartment on this pack, so a touring or freeride day needs a purpose-built ski pack instead. Organisation is deliberately minimal, and the lid pocket is small enough that it competes for space with a laptop in the sleeve.

What is the Mantis 16 made of and how do you clean it?

The shell and the lining of the Arc'teryx Mantis 16 Backpack both use recycled content, and the FC0 DWR finish applied to them is PFAS compliant. Cleaning is restricted: surface clean only. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, bleach, dry clean or iron it, which means heavy soiling has to be worked out by hand rather than put through a cycle. Spot-treating marks as they happen keeps the pack looking right for far longer. The Black colourway is a solid black with no contrast panelling.

How sustainable is the Arc'teryx Mantis 16 Backpack?

The Mantis 16 is built with recycled content in both shell and lining, with the lining dope dyed in some colours, and it carries a PFAS-compliant FC0 DWR finish. Arc'teryx lists the pack under bluesign approved materials and under Fair Trade Certified production. As with other synthetic fabrics, washing can release plastic microfibres into the environment, which is one more reason the surface-clean-only care routine suits this pack.

DWR-behandeling (Durable Water Repellent)
Many garments from Rossignol are treated with a durable water-repellent coating (DWR). This layer ensures that water droplets roll off the surface without restricting breathability. This makes the clothing suitable for wet and snowy conditions.
