A lined jacket contains a filling of down, wool or synthetic material.
What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 300 g/m2 knit fleece, warm straight off the wall
- Organically grown cotton, Fair Trade Certified sewn
- Relaxed cut layers over a T-shirt or base layer
- 81% cotton: absorbs water and dries slowly
- No membrane or DWR, so not a ski or rain layer
- 390 g and a loose cut add bulk under a slim shell
The Arc'teryx Emblem Fleece Crew Women's is a heavyweight cotton-blend fleece crewneck built for the hours around activity rather than during it. The fabric is a 300 g/m2 circular knit fleece in 81% cotton and 19% polyester, dense and soft rather than fast-drying, and the garment weighs 390 g. There is no membrane, no hood and no zip: this is a warm pull-on layer, not weather protection.
Who is the Emblem Fleece Crew Women's for?
This crew suits you if you want a soft, loose cotton-blend fleece for the drive to the crag, the downtime between boulder problems, dry mild hikes and everyday wear. Arc'teryx lists bouldering and hiking as its activities. It is not built for skiing or snowboarding as an outer layer, not for wet or windy weather, and not for high-output efforts where moisture has to move fast: at 81% cotton the knit absorbs water and dries slowly.
How warm is the Arc'teryx Emblem Fleece Crew Women's?
Warmth here comes from fabric weight alone: 300 g/m2 of knit fleece, with no insulation behind it and no temperature rating attached to it. That is enough to take the edge off a cool morning at the crag or a mild hike when worn over a T-shirt. The knit is uncoated and air-permeable, so wind passes through it, and with no zip, hood or hem adjustment you cannot regulate the fit or the venting.
Which size should you choose in the Emblem Fleece Crew?
The cut is relaxed: loose through chest, waist, hip and thigh, with room to wear it over a T-shirt or base layer. Skistore Swing carries S, M and L. Measure your chest and compare it with the Arc'teryx women's tops size chart on this page, and check the body length figures too if you have a long torso or long arms. Under a slim-cut hardshell the 300 g/m2 fabric and the loose cut add noticeable bulk.
How is the Arc'teryx Emblem Fleece Crew Women's constructed?
A single fabric does all the work: a circular knit cotton/polyester fleece at 300 g/m2, 81% cotton and 19% polyester, with a brushed inner face and a matte knit outside. Circular knitting gives a continuous, seam-reduced tube of fabric, which is part of why the crew hangs softly instead of standing away from the body. A contrast panel in organically grown cotton with recycled content breaks up the body fabric, and the Arc'teryx bird and word logo sits on the chest. This generation is a revision of the earlier Emblem Fleece Crew, now cut to a relaxed fit. Total weight is 390 g.
Is the Emblem Fleece Crew Women's good for bouldering and hiking?
Arc'teryx positions the Emblem Fleece Crew Women's as a recovery piece: something to pull on between climbs, at the boulder pad, in the van, or on a dry mild hike. In that role it works because it is warm, soft and loose enough to layer easily over a T-shirt or base layer. It stops where the weather starts. With no membrane, no stated water-repellent finish and no wind protection, rain and wind go straight through, and a cotton-majority knit stays damp once it is wet. For skiing, snowboarding and sustained aerobic output, choose a synthetic technical fleece or a shell instead.
How do you wash and care for this cotton-blend fleece?
The body is 81% cotton and 19% polyester, so treat it like a well-made sweatshirt rather than a technical garment. Machine wash it on a low setting and tumble dry on low; do not bleach, do not dry clean and do not iron. The polyester content is there for durability in a fabric that is otherwise cotton-dominant. One point worth knowing before the first wear: some owners report fibre shedding from the fleece onto darker garments worn underneath when the crew is new. Washing before first wear reduces the nuisance.
What makes the Emblem Fleece Crew a more responsible choice?
The body fabric uses organically grown cotton together with recycled content, and the contrast panel does the same. Materials in the Arc'teryx Emblem Fleece Crew Women's are produced through processes that meet bluesign criteria, and the garment is PFAS compliant. Sewing takes place in a Fair Trade Certified facility, MAS Active (Private) Limited - Asialine in Sri Lanka, while the fabric is made and dyed in Thailand.
