More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. - Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 20,000 mm water column, fully taped seams
- 40/60 g 3DeFX+™ fill in a stretch shell
- Graphene-lined, VaporTemp interior and gaiter
- Only AC-Vent forearm vents, no underarm zips
- 40/60 g fill: add a midlayer in deep cold
- Insulated build: too warm for mild spring days
The KJUS Men Cirque Jacket is an insulated ski jacket for piste and resort skiing in cool to cold conditions, built on a four-way stretch outer fabric of 79% polyamide and 21% elastane. It pairs a 20,000 mm water column and 20,000 g/m²/24h breathability with 40/60 g 3DeFX+™ synthetic insulation, so one garment does the work of a shell plus a separate insulating layer. What sets it apart is the inside: a Graphene-lined, VaporTemp-treated interior built to spread body heat and speed evaporation rather than simply add fill.
Who is the KJUS Men Cirque Jacket for?
This is a jacket for the resort skier who wants one insulated ski jacket for lift-served days, including off-piste runs reached from the lift, and who wants it to look right in the village afterwards. It is not the right choice for mild spring skiing, for sustained high-output touring and skinning, or for technical climbing and alpine mountaineering, where a lighter, harness-focused shell works better. For long static periods in deep cold, plan on a warm midlayer underneath.
How waterproof and breathable is the Cirque Jacket?
The KJUS Men Cirque Jacket carries a 20,000 mm water column and 20,000 g/m²/24h breathability, with fully taped seams across the construction. In practice that covers heavy snowfall, wet chairlift seats and sleet at resort altitude. Heat regulation runs through the patented KJUS AC-Vent™ forearm ventilation system; there are no underarm zips, so heat dumping on a long climb is limited.
Which size should you choose?
The Cirque Jacket is cut as a regular fit: standard through chest, waist and hem, with the body ending at the hip and a classic sleeve that sits at the wrist. The KJUS fit model is 188 cm tall and wears size M I 48-50. Sizes carry international and EU notation together, so compare your own chest, waist, hip and arm measurements against the KJUS men's tops chart rather than picking by size letter alone.
How is the KJUS Men Cirque Jacket built?
The KJUS Men Cirque Jacket uses a stretch-led construction rather than a stiff shell. The outer fabric is 79% polyamide with 21% elastane and moves in four directions, and the seams are fully taped behind a 20,000 mm water column. Inside sits Toray 3DeFX+™ synthetic insulation in 100% polyester, at 40 g and 60 g. The lining is 100% polyester, VaporTemp-treated and Graphene-lined, and the fabric construction is described by KJUS as Reactive Climate Control. A magnetic zipper closes the centre front, the cuffs are Mineral Circulation cuffs, and embossed foam detailing shapes the panels.
Is the Cirque Jacket suitable for off-piste and touring?
On lift-served off-piste days the KJUS Men Cirque Jacket has the hardware for it: a removable, helmet-compatible hood, a removable and adjustable snow skirt against snow pushing up from below, and a VaporTemp neck gaiter for the cold ride back up. Where it stops is uphill travel. Ventilation is limited to the AC-Vent™ forearm system, with no underarm zips, and the 40/60 g fill stays in the jacket, so sustained skinning will run hot. For touring days, an uninsulated shell with separate layers adapts faster. Equally, this is a jacket rated for cool to cold climates, so it is more insulation than a mild spring afternoon needs.
What is the KJUS Men Cirque Jacket made of and how do you care for it?
The shell is 79% polyamide and 21% elastane, the insulation 100% polyester in 40/60 g 3DeFX+™, and the lining 100% polyester. The high elastane share is what gives the fabric its stretch, and it is also why the jacket should be washed gently: machine wash at 30 °C on a mild process, do not bleach, tumble dry at low temperature, do not iron and do not dry clean. Washing with a mild detergent and keeping the jacket away from heat sources protects both the stretch fabric and the taped seams over multiple seasons. Close the magnetic front zipper and detach the hood and snow skirt before washing so nothing catches in the drum.
How warm is the KJUS Men Cirque Jacket?
KJUS rates the Cirque Jacket for cool to cold climates. The 40 g and 60 g 3DeFX+™ fill is a moderate insulation weight: comfortable while you are moving on cold piste days, and comfortable on a chairlift in normal winter conditions. In deep cold, or on days spent mostly standing still, add a warm midlayer underneath. The Graphene-lined, VaporTemp-treated interior works on the distribution and evaporation of body heat rather than on raw loft, which is why the jacket stays relatively thin for its warmth.
