A padded jacket or pants contains a filling of down, wool, or synthetic material.
More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 20,000 mm Dermizax® EV, fully taped seams
- 60 g KJUS Fast Thermo Core™ stretch insulation
- Four-way stretch with Waist Adjustment System
- No leg vents: heat leaves through the fabric
- Tailored thigh: little room for thick baselayers
- Reinforced at the hems only, not across the leg
The KJUS Men Formula Pants are insulated ski trousers for cold days on lift-served terrain, built around a Dermizax® EV membrane rated at 20,000 mm water column with fully seam taped construction. What sets them apart is that the stretch runs through every layer: a four-way stretch face fabric of 79% polyamide and 21% elastane, a stretch lining and 60 g of KJUS Fast Thermo Core™ stretch insulation, so the warmth never locks up your stride.
Who are the KJUS Formula Pants for?
They suit the resort skier who wants a tailored insulated ski trouser with real weather protection and a wide choice of leg lengths, and who rides the lift back up. They are less suited to ski touring or sustained uphill effort, since the insulation runs through the whole leg and heat has to leave through the fabric rather than through zipped vents. If you want bib coverage over the lower back for deep-snow days, this waist-height trouser is not that garment, and for warm spring skiing 60 g plus a membrane will be more than most skiers need.
How warm and how waterproof are they?
The Dermizax® EV membrane carries a 20,000 mm water column and 20,000 g/m²/24h breathability, backed by fully taped seams, water-resistant zippers and a PFC-free DWR finish on the face fabric. Insulation is 60 g of KJUS Fast Thermo Core™ polyester: a mid-level figure that keeps a moving skier warm in cold weather, but thin for long static exposure unless you add a warmer baselayer.
Which size should you choose in the KJUS Formula Pants?
The cut is a regular fit with a mid rise: the trousers sit at the waist and are tailored through the thigh and knee, with the stretch fabric giving back the freedom of movement. KJUS's own model is 188 cm and wears 34R I 50 REGULAR. The style is built in SHORT, REGULAR and LONG legs, so order on the body-measurement chart — waist, hip, thigh and inner leg in cm — rather than on a general size feeling.
How is the KJUS Men Formula Pants built?
The KJUS Men Formula Pants combine a Dermizax® EV membrane with a four-way stretch face fabric of 79% polyamide and 21% elastane. The membrane is rated at 20,000 mm water column and 20,000 g/m²/24h breathability, and the construction is fully seam taped, with water-resistant zippers and a PFC-free DWR treatment on the outer fabric. Inside sits 60 g of KJUS Fast Thermo Core™, a 100% polyester stretch insulation that moves with the fabric instead of resisting it. Because lining, insulation, shell and seams all stretch, the trouser bends with the knee rather than pulling at the waist. The hems carry a reinforced abrasion-resistant material to take the contact of a ski edge.
Are the KJUS Formula Pants good for piste skiing and resort freeride?
On marked pistes in cold weather these trousers are in their element: sealed against wet chairlift seats and blowing snow, warm enough to stand through a lift queue while you are still cycling laps, and tailored enough to feel like skiwear rather than padding. Snow gaiters with anti-slide elastic keep the hem sitting on the boot for off-piste laps taken from the lift, and the Waist Adjustment System lets you fine-tune the fit after a heavy lunch or over a thin baselayer. Where the KJUS Men Formula Pants stop is uphill travel: with insulation through the full leg and no zipped thigh vents, heat can only escape through the fabric, which makes them warm for skinning or for mild spring days. They are also not a trouser for scrambling or rock contact — only the hems are reinforced, and the rest is an elastane-rich stretch face fabric that will not take the same abuse as a ripstop or Cordura-type panel.
What are the KJUS Men Formula Pants made of and how do you wash them?
The shell is 79% polyamide and 21% elastane, bonded to a Dermizax® EV membrane, with a lining in 89% polyester and 11% elastane alongside a 100% polyester lining fabric. The insulation is 100% polyester in a 60 g KJUS Fast Thermo Core™ construction. Machine wash the KJUS Men Formula Pants at 30 °C on a mild process, do not bleach, tumble dry at low temperature and iron at low temperature if needed; do not dry clean. Regular washing and a low-heat tumble revive the DWR finish, which is what keeps the stretch face fabric from wetting out and feeling heavy.
What about sustainability?
The water-repellent finish on the KJUS Men Formula Pants is a PFC-free DWR treatment, so the beading on the surface is achieved without per- and polyfluorinated chemistry.
