A padded jacket or pants contains a filling of down, wool, or synthetic material.
More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 20,000 mm water column, 30,000 g/m²/24h breathable
- Four-way stretch through shell, insulation and lining
- Graphene-treated lining spreads body heat
- Thigh vents only, no full-length side zips
- 40 g insulation: too light for standing in deep cold
- Waist trouser, no bib coverage over chest and back
The KJUS Formula Tech Pants are insulated ski trousers for resort skiing, built around a 20,000 mm water column, 30,000 g/m²/24h breathability and 40 g 3DeFX+™ synthetic insulation. What separates them from a standard insulated pant is that the stretch runs through every layer — outer fabric, insulation, lining and even the seams — so a relaxed cut still moves with the turn instead of binding at the knee.
Who are the KJUS Formula Tech Pants for?
These ski trousers suit the resort skier who wants a waterproof, highly breathable insulated pant with room through thigh and knee, rather than a close-fitting race-style trouser. They also work for lift-served off-piste days and for cold hours in the village. They are not built for ski touring or other uphill days: insulated, lined, and vented through the thighs only. They are a waist trouser, so if you want bib-style coverage over the chest and back, look at a bib instead.
How waterproof and how warm are the Formula Tech Pants?
The KJUS Formula Tech Pants combine a 20,000 mm water column with 30,000 g/m²/24h breathability, and the construction is fully seam taped, so sitting on wet chairlifts and in soft snow stays a non-issue. Insulation is a single 40 g layer of 3DeFX+™ stretch wadding, backed by a Graphene-treated lining that spreads body heat sideways across the fabric. That combination covers average winter resort days well. It is not expedition weight for standing still in deep cold.
Which size should you choose in the Formula Tech Pants?
The cut is relaxed with a mid rise: the waistband sits at the waist and the leg stays roomy through thigh and knee, with space for a baselayer underneath and over ski boots at the hem. KJUS labels these trousers with the US waist plus a length letter next to the EU size, for example 34R I 50 REGULAR — the size the brand's own 188 cm model wears. Check your waist measurement and your inner leg against the size chart on this page, since the chart lists inner leg and thigh width per size.
How are the KJUS Formula Tech Pants constructed?
The KJUS Formula Tech Pants are built as a stretch system rather than a stack of separate layers. The outer fabric is a 79% polyamide, 21% elastane weave with four-way stretch, and that elasticity is carried through the 3DeFX+™ insulation, the lining and the seam construction, so nothing in the trouser limits a deep knee bend. Behind the face fabric sits a breathable membrane rated at 20,000 mm water column and 30,000 g/m²/24h, with every seam taped. The lining is Graphene-treated: Graphene conducts heat laterally, so warmth generated at your thighs is distributed across the leg instead of pooling in hot and cold patches. A Waist Adjustment System fine-tunes the fit at the waistband without a belt.
Are the Formula Tech Pants suitable for a full piste day?
Yes — piste skiing at a resort is exactly what these KJUS ski trousers are made for. Thigh ventilation zips let you dump heat on a hard-charging morning or during a long lift queue in the sun, and the large thigh storage pockets take a phone, skins of paper, gloves or a goggle cloth without pressing into the leg. At the bottom, abrasion-resistant hems take the edge contact that destroys ordinary face fabric, and hem zips open the leg wide enough to pull them over ski boots. Where they stop: ventilation is limited to the thigh zips, so cooling on mild spring afternoons is more modest than with full-length side zips, and the insulated, lined build makes them too warm for a sustained climb on skins.
What are the Formula Tech Pants made of and how do you wash them?
Shell: 79% polyamide with 21% elastane, a high elastane content that explains the stretch and asks for gentle washing. Insulation: 100% polyester in the form of 40 g 3DeFX+™, a stretch wadding that recovers its loft after being compressed in a chairlift seat. Lining: 89% polyester, 11% elastane, Graphene-treated. Machine wash the KJUS Formula Tech Pants at 30 °C on a mild programme and skip the bleach, the iron and the dry cleaner. A low-temperature tumble dry is allowed and is worth doing: gentle heat helps the insulation regain full loft and reactivates the water repellency of the face fabric. Close the hem zips and the thigh vents before washing so the sliders do not chew the fabric.
