More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 60 g/m² fill plus Helium quilted lining
- 10,000 mm HIPE®, fully seam sealed
- Cordura® reinforcement at the bottom leg
- No vent zips: heat cannot be dumped
- Slim cut: no room for fleece trousers under
- 10,000 mm is mid-range for long wet days
The Peak Performance Anima 2L Insulated Shell Pants Women are insulated ski pants built around a two-layer HIPE® membrane rated at 10,000 mm water column and 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability, with fully seam sealed construction and 60 g/m² synthetic insulation in the body. They are made for resort skiing in cold winter conditions, worn as the outer layer over a base layer. What sets them apart is the combination of a Helium quilted lining and a slim cut, so you get warmth without the bulk of a classic padded resort trouser.
Who are these insulated ski pants for?
These Peak Performance ski pants suit a woman who skis mainly on-piste in cold weather and wants warm, waterproof legwear in a clean, slim silhouette. They also work for lift-served off-piste and light freeride inside the resort, and for general cold-weather winter wear. They are not the right choice for ski touring or other uphill work, and not for technical climbing or mountaineering: there are no full-length side zips, no instep reinforcement and no harness-compatible details.
How warm and waterproof are the Anima 2L pants?
The body carries 60 g/m² synthetic sheet insulation, backed by the Helium quilted lining, which places these pants in the range of cold, dry resort days rather than deep-freeze standing around or mild spring slush. The HIPE® membrane gives 10,000 mm water column with fully sealed seams and a PFC-free durable water repellent finish, so settled snow and short showers stay out. Long days in heavy rain or wet spring snow ask for more.
Which size should you choose?
The cut is slim and the pants are insulated, so there is limited room underneath: a base layer fits, thick fleece or insulated trousers do not. If you want to layer more heavily or have strong thighs, take the next size up. Sizes run XS to XL; check the Peak Performance size chart on this page before ordering. Articulated legs and 2-way stretch fabric keep the leg free over ski boots.
How is the two-layer HIPE® construction built?
HIPE® is Peak Performance's own membrane, here a 100% polyurethane film laminated to the face fabric in a two-layer build and backed by a separate lining rather than a bonded backer. On the Anima 2L Insulated Shell Pants Women that lining is the Helium quilted lining, which holds the 60 g/m² synthetic sheet insulation in place across the body. Every seam is sealed, so the waterproof barrier is continuous and not interrupted by stitching, and the face fabric carries a PFC-free durable water repellent treatment that keeps the outer surface from wetting out. The membrane is 2-way stretch, which is why the fabric moves with a deep turn instead of pulling at the knee.
What do these pants do on a resort day, and where do they stop?
On piste in cold conditions the Anima 2L Insulated Shell Pants Women work as a complete outer layer: snow gaiters with anti-slip elastic seal the hem around ski boots, Cordura® reinforcement at the bottom leg takes the edge contact and lift-queue scuffing, and loops at the waist snap into the powder skirt system of a matching Peak Performance ski jacket to close the gap at the waist. Zippered hand pockets, belt loops, adjustable hook-and-loop waist straps and a double closure with button, hook and zip fly handle the practical side. The clear limit is ventilation: no thigh or side zips are listed, so on a warm afternoon or during any uphill section you cannot dump heat, and the 60 g/m² fill is fixed. At 661 g these are pants you ski in, not pants you carry in a pack.
What are the Anima ski pants made of and how do you wash them?
Shell 1 pairs a 100% polyurethane membrane with a face of 60% recycled polyester and 40% polyester; Shell 2 is polyester, partly recycled. The lining and the filling are polyester, polyamide and recycled polyester blends. Polyester shells like these handle abrasion and repeated washing well, and the Cordura® panel adds hard-wearing protection exactly where ski edges reach. Machine wash at 40 °C on a delicate cycle, inside out, with zips closed and similar colours. Use a technical detergent and skip the softener, then tumble dry low: the heat reactivates the water repellent finish. Do not iron, bleach or dry clean.
What makes these pants a more responsible choice?
The durable water repellent treatment on the Peak Performance Anima 2L Insulated Shell Pants Women is PFC-free, and the garment uses partly recycled fibres, including a face fabric on Shell 1 made of 60% recycled polyester. The insulation and lining also include recycled polyester components.
