A lined jacket contains a filling of down, wool or synthetic material.
What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 140 gsm jersey: 65% polyester, 35% cotton
- Regular, classic cut, not a tight sports fit
- Made without intentionally added PFAS
- 35% cotton: slow to dry when you sweat
- No membrane, no insulation: no weather layer
- Offered in S, M and L only
The Peak Performance Explore Logo Tee Women is a short-sleeve t-shirt in a lightweight 140 gsm jersey of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, cut in a regular, classic fit. It is made for everyday wear and relaxed outdoor days, not for high-output activity in cold or wet weather. The polyester gives the jersey its structure and the cotton gives it the soft, familiar hand of an ordinary tee.
Who is the Explore Logo Tee Women for?
This is a tee for a woman who wants one simple, lightweight shirt for daily use that also handles a walk, a mild-weather hike, a travel day or an evening after skiing. The Peak Performance Explore Logo Tee Women is not a technical ski base layer: with 35% cotton in the blend it holds moisture and dries slowly, so if you want a shirt for long, cold days of hard skinning or running, choose merino or a full-synthetic base layer instead.
How warm and how protective is this t-shirt?
The fabric is a single-layer 140 gsm jersey with no insulation, no membrane and no water or wind rating, so on its own it gives no measurable warmth and no weather protection. In practice that makes it a mild-weather shirt and a short-sleeve base layer under a midlayer, with the outer protection coming from the layers you put over it. The jersey knit gives a small amount of give in the shoulders and sleeves; there is no elastane in the composition, so treat the stretch as comfort, not as a performance claim.
Which size should you choose?
The Explore Logo Tee Women has a regular, classic cut that follows the body without clinging and leaves room for a sports bra or a thin layer underneath. It is offered in S, M and L. Check your measurements against the Peak Performance size chart on this page before ordering; if you want the tee to sit close as a base layer under a midlayer, stay with your usual size, and go one size up if you prefer a loose, casual drape.
What is the Explore Logo Tee Women made from?
The Peak Performance Explore Logo Tee Women is built from one fabric: a lightweight 140 gsm jersey knitted from 65% polyester and 35% cotton. The polyester share carries the fabric's shape and keeps the knit stable wash after wash, while the cotton share softens the surface against the skin. There is no lining and no second layer, so the garment stays thin and light in a pack or a suitcase. The chest carries a printed Peak Performance logo. Because it is a single-layer knit rather than a laminate, the tee breathes well in mild conditions but has nothing to stop wind or rain.
Is the Explore Logo Tee Women suitable for hiking and ski trips?
For walking, easy hiking in mild weather, travel days and after-ski wear, this tee does exactly what it is meant to do: a light, non-technical shirt you can wear all day. Worn next to the skin under a midlayer it also works as a short-sleeve base layer when temperatures are mild. Where it stops is cold and wet work: the cotton content absorbs sweat and releases it slowly, so on a long touring day or a cold lift day it will stay damp against your back far longer than a synthetic or merino base layer. For those days, keep this tee for the drive home and put a dedicated base layer under your shell.
How do you wash and care for the Explore Logo Tee Women?
Wash the tee at 40 °C on a delicate cycle, inside out and with similar colours, and skip bleach and dry cleaning. Do not tumble dry: line dry it instead and shape it while it is still wet so the jersey keeps its lines. Take it out of the machine promptly rather than leaving it to sit. If you iron, use a cool iron and work on the inside, and keep the iron off the printed logo entirely, since heat on the print will damage it. Professional wet cleaning in the normal process is an option if you prefer it.
What does Peak Performance say about sustainability?
The Explore Logo Tee Women is made without intentionally added PFAS, and the cotton in the blend is described as sustainably sourced. Those are the two concrete points on this garment; the polyester share is not declared as recycled. The practical sustainability argument here is the same one Peak Performance has made since 1986 in Ã…re: a simple, well-made garment you keep wearing, which in this case means following the care instructions closely so the jersey and the print both survive.
