More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.

- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

The Peak Performance Helium AOP Down Hood Jacket Men is a lightweight, packable down jacket filled with 700 fill power duck down (90/10 down/feather) under an all-over printed 44 gsm 20D recycled ripstop shell. It is made for cold, dry days and works both as a stand-alone outer layer and as an insulation layer under a shell jacket. The shell is windproof and water repellent, not waterproof.
Who is the Helium AOP Down Hood Jacket for?
This jacket suits a skier or winter walker who wants one light down layer that handles cold dry weather on its own and packs down to a warm midlayer when the weather turns. It is not a ski shell: there is no powder skirt, no pit zips and no wrist gaiters. Skip it if you need protection in sustained rain or wet snow as an outer layer, or if you ride lifts in storm conditions without a shell on top. Down also loses loft when damp, so it is not the layer for high-output days next to a sweating body.
How warm is the Helium AOP Down Hood Jacket?
Warmth comes from 700 fill power duck down, quilted in the Helium pattern so the down stays evenly distributed across the body, sleeves and hood. The fixed hood adjusts in two directions, height and width, and a chin guard sits behind the reversed YKK coil zipper. Elastic binding closes the hem and cuffs. With a 44 gsm 20D shell this is a light down jacket rather than a deep-winter parka.
Which size should you choose?
The cut is regular, with room for a base layer and a thin midlayer underneath, and enough space to sit under a shell jacket. Sizes run S to 2XL; the AOP print is stocked in S, M and L only. Check the size chart on this page before you order.
How is the Peak Performance Helium AOP Down Hood Jacket built?
The Peak Performance Helium AOP Down Hood Jacket Men combines a 44 gsm 20D recycled polyamide ripstop face fabric with a 700 fill power duck down filling in a 90/10 down/feather ratio. The down is held in place by quilting in the Helium pattern, and a separate recycled polyamide lining sits between the down and your midlayer. The tight ripstop weave blocks wind and sheds light moisture thanks to a water-repellent finish made without intentionally added PFAS. There is no membrane and no seam sealing, so the construction is aimed at cold, dry air rather than at rain.
Is the Helium AOP Down Hood Jacket suitable for resort skiing?
On the hill, the Helium AOP Down Hood Jacket Men earns its place as the insulation layer under a hardshell: it compresses, carries easily and adds warmth on cold lift rides without bulk. On clear, cold days it also works as an outer layer for skinning stops, après, winter walks and travel, and it packs down into a bag when you do not need it. Where it stops is wet weather and ski-specific protection. Without a powder skirt, underarm ventilation or a water column, it is not the garment to ski in when snow turns heavy and wet.
What is the Helium AOP Down Hood Jacket made of and how do you wash it?
Shell and lining are both 100% recycled polyamide; the filling is 90% duck down and 10% duck feather. The jacket can be machine washed at 40 °C on a delicate cycle, with all zippers closed and with similar colours. Skip bleach, fabric softener, ironing, dry cleaning and professional wet cleaning. Drying matters more than washing with down: tumble dry inside out on low with tennis balls for at least five hours, and take the jacket out every half hour to shake it by hand so the down redistributes instead of clumping. A repair patch is included for small punctures in the 20D shell.
What are the sustainability credentials of the Helium AOP Down Hood Jacket?
The down in the Peak Performance Helium AOP Down Hood Jacket Men is certified to the Responsible Down Standard and traceable through the Track My Down programme, with Sterilization Permit no. PA 9900(CN) for the filling. Both the shell and the lining are 100% recycled polyamide, and the jacket is made without intentionally added PFAS. The included repair patch is part of the same logic: a 20D ripstop is light, and a patched jacket keeps its down where it belongs.
