More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 60 g/m² insulation at the body, built in
- HIPE® 2L, 10,000 mm, fully seam sealed
- Snow gaiters, Cordura® leg, RECCO® reflector
- 10,000 mm is mid-range for long wet days
- Insulation is fixed and cannot be removed
- Venting limited to half-leg zips
The Peak Performance HIPE® 2L Insulated Shell Ski Pants Women are insulated two-layer ski pants for resort and all-mountain skiing in cold conditions. The HIPE® membrane is rated 10,000 mm water column and 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability, with 60 g/m² synthetic insulation at the body and fully sealed seams. What sets them apart is the mix of built-in leg warmth, snow gaiters with anti-slip elastic and a RECCO® reflector in a relaxed-cut waist pant.
Who are these ski pants for?
They suit a skier who spends cold lift-served and all-mountain days on and just off the piste and wants warmth built into the pant instead of layered underneath. They are less suited to high-output uphill days: the 60 g/m² body insulation is fixed, breathability sits at 10,000 g/m²/24h and ventilation is limited to half-leg zips, so sustained climbing gets warm. If you want a bib, these are waist pants with loops on the inside waistband for suspenders.
How warm and how waterproof are the HIPE® 2L Insulated Shell Ski Pants Women?
Warmth comes from 60 g/m² synthetic sheet insulation at the body, so the hips and thighs stay insulated while the lower leg stays slimmer over a ski boot. Weather protection comes from a two-layer HIPE® construction at 10,000 mm water column with fully sealed seams, which covers snow, wind and short showers. In long, heavy rain or very wet spring snow, 10,000 mm is at the lower end of what you want.
Which size should you choose?
The cut is relaxed, with articulated legs and room for a base layer underneath without pulling across the thigh. Sizes run XS to XL. Check the size chart on this page against your own waist and hip measurements before ordering, and remember that the insulation already takes up space, so there is no need to allow for a thick layer underneath.
How is the HIPE® 2L construction built?
The Peak Performance HIPE® 2L Insulated Shell Ski Pants Women use a 75D midweight face fabric with 2-way stretch, bonded to the brand's own HIPE® membrane, a 100% thermoplastic polyurethane film rated 10,000 mm and 10,000 g/m²/24h. Because this is a two-layer build, the membrane is backed by a separate lining rather than a bonded backer: that adds a soft hand and carries the 60 g/m² insulation, but it is bulkier and less packable than a three-layer shell. Every seam is sealed, so the stitch lines do not become the weak point in wet snow. The 2-way stretch keeps the fabric moving with you when you crouch or step over a ski.
What do these pants do on a resort and freeride day?
On piste the HIPE® 2L Insulated Shell Ski Pants Women work as a warm outer layer: snow gaiters with anti-slip elastic seal over the boot, Cordura® reinforcement at the bottom leg takes the edge hits and lift-line scuffs, and loops at the waist snap into the powder skirt of a compatible Peak Performance ski jacket to keep snow out on a deeper day. Off-piste and in the sidecountry, the RECCO® reflector makes you detectable to organised rescue teams carrying a RECCO® detector. Half-leg zippered vents let you dump heat on a warm afternoon, but that is the full extent of the ventilation, so these pants stop where long skinning laps begin. Closure is a double button-and-hook waistband with a zip fly, adjustable velcro straps at the waist and belt loops.
What are they made of and how do you wash them?
The shell face is 100% recycled polyester over the HIPE® membrane, the insulation filling is 100% recycled polyester and the linings are 100% recycled polyester and 100% polyamide. The Cordura® at the bottom leg is there for abrasion resistance where it is needed most. Wash at 40°C, inside out, with zippers closed and a technical detergent that maintains the water-repellent treatment. Skip fabric softener, which blocks the fabric and flattens water repellency. Tumble dry low or line dry in the shade.
What makes these ski pants a more sustainable choice?
They are made without intentionally added PFAS, and the three largest fabric components — shell face, lining and insulation filling — are all 100% recycled polyester.
