What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.

Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.

Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.

Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?

  • Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.

  • Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.

  • Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.

Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

GOOD TO KNOW

  • You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
  • Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
  • Returns are at your own risk and expense.
  • If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

Product information
  • 40 g/m2 recycled PrimaLoft® Silver in the body
  • Stretch soft shell sides for free arm movement
  • 280 g and packable; fits under a shell jacket
  • No sleeves, no hood: arms need other layers
  • 40 g/m2 only: too light for standing in the cold
  • Water repellent only, not for sustained rain

The Peak Performance Radiance Hybrid Vest is a sleeveless synthetic-insulated vest for men, built with 40 g/m2 recycled PrimaLoft® Silver through the body and stretch soft shell panels down the sides. At 280 g and packable, it adds core warmth without adding bulk at the arms. The hybrid layout is the whole idea: insulation where your core loses heat, stretch and airflow where you move.

Who is the Radiance Hybrid Vest for?

This vest suits anyone who works hard and wants a warm core with completely free arms — ski touring, skiing, golf, or an insulating layer under a shell on a cold day. The Peak Performance Radiance Hybrid Vest is not the right call if you want one piece that covers everything: there are no sleeves and no hood, so arms and head depend entirely on your other layers.

How warm is the Radiance Hybrid Vest?

The body carries 40 g/m2 of recycled PrimaLoft® Silver insulation; the side panels are uninsulated stretch soft shell. That is active warmth for moving in cold air, and the padding is deliberately a little thinner than the jacket version of this style. Standing still at a lift in deep cold asks more than this vest can give. The face fabric is an ultralight recycled nylon ripstop with a PFC-free DWR finish: water repellent and wind resistant, but not a membrane, so sustained rain or wet snow calls for a shell over the top.

Which size should you choose?

The Radiance Hybrid Vest has a regular fit and comes in S, M, L and XL. It is cut to go over a base layer or a thin midlayer and still slide under a shell jacket without pulling at the shoulders. Check your chest measurement against the size chart on this page before ordering; if you plan to wear it over a thick fleece, take the larger of two sizes.

How is the Peak Performance Radiance Hybrid Vest constructed?

The Peak Performance Radiance Hybrid Vest uses two different shell fabrics in one garment. The front and back are an ultralight recycled nylon ripstop in 100% recycled polyamide, quilted over 40 g/m2 of recycled PrimaLoft® Silver insulation and a 100% recycled polyamide lining. The sides are a stretch soft shell in 52% recycled polyamide, 36% polyamide and 12% elastane, left uninsulated. That body-mapped split is also the ventilation strategy — there are no zipped vents, so heat escapes through the air-permeable side panels while the core stays insulated. A full-front two-way YKK reversed coil zipper, elastic binding at the hem and armholes, and a low-cut collar that stays clear of a helmet or a jacket collar complete the build. Total weight is 280 g, and the vest is packable.

Is the Radiance Hybrid Vest suitable for ski touring?

Yes — the Radiance Hybrid Vest fits the uphill profile well. Light insulation in the core, no insulation on the arms and open-knit stretch at the sides mean you can keep it on while climbing instead of stopping to strip a layer. It also works as a belay layer or as an extra insulating layer under a shell on a cold resort day. Where it stops is weather and static cold: there is no membrane, no stated water column and no seam sealing, so it is a water-repellent piece rather than a waterproof one. For a long, wet descent or a storm day, wear it under a hardshell rather than on its own. Zippered hand, chest and inner pockets plus an inner mesh stash pocket hold skins, gloves or a phone, and there is a glove loop.

What is the Radiance Hybrid Vest made of and how do you care for it?

Shell, lining and filling are all recycled synthetics: recycled polyamide for the ripstop shell and lining, recycled polyester for the PrimaLoft® Silver filling, and a stretch side panel blend with 12% elastane. Synthetic insulation keeps loft when it is damp, which suits sweaty uphill work better than down does. Machine wash at 40 °C on a delicate cycle with a technical detergent, close the zippers first, skip the fabric softener, and tumble dry on low to revive the water repellency. Do not bleach and do not dry clean.

What makes this vest a more responsible choice?

The durable water repellent finish is PFC-free, the filling is 100% recycled polyester, and the ripstop shell and lining are 100% recycled polyamide, with 52% recycled polyamide in the stretch side panels.
