More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 20.000 mm HIPE® ACE 3L, fully seam sealed
- Half-leg zip vents for venting on the climb
- Transceiver pocket and RECCO® reflector
- No insulation: your layers do the warming
- Relaxed bib cut, bulkier than a touring pant
- Offered in XS to L only, in one colourway
The Peak Performance Ridge Ace HIPE® ACE 3L Shell Bib Pants are uninsulated three-layer ski bib pants for women, built for freeride lines and days where you walk for some of your turns. The HIPE® ACE membrane holds a 20.000 mm water column and the seams are fully sealed, while a transceiver pocket, a RECCO® reflector and half-leg zip vents put the backcountry details on a pant you can also ski on the piste.
Who are these bib pants for?
They suit a skier who moves between off-piste descents, touring and resort days and wants a hardshell bib rather than an insulated resort pant. The high bib sits low in profile under a jacket, and loops let you snap into a compatible ski jacket snow skirt system. They are not the right choice if you spend cold, static days on lifts without an insulating layer underneath, or if you want a trim, close-fitting silhouette.
How waterproof and breathable are the Ridge Ace bib pants?
The three-layer build combines a 70D ripstop face with a 100% polypropylene HIPE® ACE membrane and a soft tricot backer: 20.000 mm water column and 20.000 g/m²/24h breathability, fully seam sealed. Exposed zippers are YKK AquaGuard®, and half-leg zippered vents let you dump heat on a climb without taking off skis or boots.
Which size should you choose?
The cut is relaxed, with room for a base layer and a midlayer underneath and space over ski boots at the hem. Adjustable suspenders and Velcro tabs at the waistband let you fine-tune the fit. Check the size chart on this page for the measurements; sizes run from XS to L, with no separate leg-length options.
What does the three-layer HIPE® ACE construction do?
In the Peak Performance Ridge Ace HIPE® ACE 3L Shell Bib Pants, three layers are bonded into one fabric: a 70D ripstop face in 60% recycled polyamide and 40% polyamide, a HIPE® ACE membrane of 100% polypropylene, and a 100% polyester backer with a soft tricot hand against the skin. The membrane is 2-way stretch, so the pant moves with a deep knee bend instead of resisting it. Every seam is sealed, the full front closure runs on a 2-way YKK reversed coil zipper with a zip fly, and the exposed zippers are YKK AquaGuard®.
Are the Ridge Ace bib pants suitable for ski touring?
Yes, with one caveat. Half-leg zippered ventilation, articulated legs and the 2-way stretch shell make the Peak Performance Ridge Ace bib pants workable on a climb, and the zippered pocket with transceiver loop plus the RECCO® reflector cover the backcountry basics. Snow gaiters with anti-slip elastic at the lower leg close off the boot cuff on a deep descent. That said, the 70D ripstop and the bib construction give a structured, substantial pant: if your priority is the lightest possible touring kit, a minimal shell pant will be less bulky. For freeride descents and resort days the same build is an advantage.
What are the Ridge Ace bib pants made of and how do you care for them?
The main shell is a recycled-content polyamide face over a polypropylene membrane with a polyester backer; a second shell panel is 100% polyester and the lining is 100% polyamide. Wash at 40°C on a delicate cycle with liquid detergent and rinse twice, with zippers closed and no fabric softener. Tumble dry low or use a cool iron afterwards — the heat step is what keeps the water repellent treatment working. Do not bleach, do not dry clean, do not professional wet clean, and never iron over the print. Flat dry in the shade if you prefer to air dry.
How sustainable are these bib pants?
The face fabric of the main shell is 60% recycled polyamide. Beyond that, longevity is the practical sustainability argument here: a ripstop face, taped seams and a washable, re-treatable water repellent finish are what keep a hardshell bib in use for several seasons.
