What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.

Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.

Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.

Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?

  • Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.

  • Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.

  • Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.

Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

GOOD TO KNOW

  • You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
  • Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
  • Returns are at your own risk and expense.
  • If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
  • If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

The Peak Performance Sportstech Crew Women is a hip-length crew-neck pullover in a light cotton-blend stretch fabric, made of 82% cotton, 10% recycled polyester and 8% elastane. It is built as a soft midlayer for training, travel and everyday wear, worn over a t-shirt, under a shell jacket or on its own. The character is sweatshirt rather than fleece: stretch jersey, active cutlines and a no-topstitch finish.

Who is the Sportstech Crew Women for?

This is for a woman who wants a clean, stretchy layer for the gym, the drive to the mountains and the evening afterwards, with a P-logo print on the chest and a Peak Performance print on the back. It is not a technical mountain midlayer. There is no membrane and no water-repellent finish, so it stays indoors or under a shell when it rains or snows, and it is the wrong choice as a standalone outer layer in wind.

How warm is the Sportstech Crew Women?

The Peak Performance Sportstech Crew Women carries no insulation at all. Warmth comes only from the cotton-blend jersey itself, which puts it in mild-weather territory: a layer for indoor training, travel and resort days when temperatures are soft. For cold skiing days it needs a warmer midlayer alongside it, and for high-output activity such as ski touring the 82% cotton content absorbs sweat and dries slowly.

Which size should you choose for the Sportstech Crew Women?

The cut is a regular fit that ends at the hip, with long sleeves and enough stretch from the 8% elastane to move without pulling. Order your usual size and check the size chart on this page before you decide. The hip-length body and slim jersey hand mean it sits flat under a shell jacket without bunching. Available in XS, S, M, L and XL.

How is the Sportstech Crew Women constructed?

The Peak Performance Sportstech Crew Women is a single-fabric garment: one light cotton-blend stretch performance jersey throughout, with the same main fabric used again at the bottom hem and the sleeve cuffs rather than ribbing. The 8% elastane gives the fabric recovery in all directions, the 82% cotton gives it the soft hand of a sweatshirt, and 10% recycled polyester sits in the blend for structure. Active cutlines shape the body and sleeves, and a no-topstitch finish keeps the seam lines smooth against the skin, which matters when the crew is worn directly over a base layer or on bare skin. The crew neckline is made in the self fabric, so the collar stretches and returns with the rest of the garment. There is no hood, no pocket and no front closure: it pulls on over the head and nothing interrupts the clean surface except the P-logo print on the chest and the Peak Performance print on the back.

Is the Sportstech Crew Women suitable for skiing?

On a mild resort day the Sportstech Crew Women works as the layer between a t-shirt and a waterproof shell jacket. Its hip length matches the shell, it does not add bulk, and the stretch follows you through a turn. Where it stops is clear. Without a membrane or a water-repellent finish it should never be the outside layer in rain or snowfall, and without insulation it is not enough on its own once the cold sets in or the lift queue gets long. For ski touring and other high-output days a cotton-dominant fabric is the wrong tool, because it holds moisture instead of moving it. Its real home is training, travel and everyday wear, with resort use as a mild-weather bonus.

What is the Sportstech Crew Women made of, and how do you wash it?

The shell fabric is 82% cotton, 10% recycled polyester and 8% elastane. That combination asks for a gentle routine, and following it is what keeps the prints and the stretch intact. Machine wash at 40°C, inside out, with similar colours, without fabric softener and without bleach. Do not tumble dry and do not iron; line dry in the shade instead, and keep an iron away from the prints entirely. Dry cleaning and professional wet cleaning are both out. If you prefer a layer you can wash hot and tumble dry between training sessions, this is not that garment.

What makes the Sportstech Crew Women more sustainable?

Ten percent of the shell fabric is recycled polyester, blended into the cotton and elastane rather than used as a separate panel. Combined with the restrained, print-led design of the Peak Performance Sportstech Crew Women, it is a piece intended to be worn across seasons rather than replaced each year.
