What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.

Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.

Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.

Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?

  • Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.

  • Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.

  • Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.

Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

Product information
  • 10,000 mm / 10,000 g/m²/24h windproof softshell
  • Zippered leg gussets fit over ski boots
  • Fleece-lined inside, 4-way stretch outside
  • Seams not sealed: not for rain or wet snow
  • No ventilation zips, so heat builds on climbs
  • Slim cut: no room for a thick midlayer pant

The Peak Performance Stretch Bib Pants Women are fleece-lined softshell bib pants for resort skiing, built on a 4-way stretch fabric rated 10,000 mm water column and 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability. What sets them apart is the slim, stretchy softshell cut combined with a high bib and zippered gussets at the hem that open up to pass over ski boots. The seams are not sealed, so these are cold-weather piste pants rather than wet-weather pants.

Who are the Stretch Bib Pants Women for?

They suit a woman who skis mostly in-bounds in cold, dry snow and wants a soft, stretchy bib with a fleece lining against the skin instead of a stiff hardshell. Lift-served off-piste in dry snow works, as does everyday winter wear in the cold. They are not the right choice for ski touring or other high-output uphill days, for mild spring conditions, or for long hours in rain and wet snow.

How waterproof and warm are these ski bib pants?

The softshell face fabric is a 30D midweight stretch material with a polyurethane membrane, rated 10,000 mm and 10,000 g/m²/24h, and stated windproof. That is mid-level protection: enough for dry, cold piste days and light snowfall, less so once snow turns wet, because the seams are left unsealed. Warmth comes from the fleece lining rather than from a synthetic fill.

Which size should you choose in the Stretch Bib Pants Women?

The cut is slim and streamlined, in sizes XS to XL. Adjustable suspenders fine-tune the length of the bib, and the flared, zippered legs sit over ski and winter boots. Check the size chart on this page before ordering, and plan on a base layer underneath on cold days rather than a thick midlayer trouser.

How are the Peak Performance Stretch Bib Pants Women constructed?

The main fabric is a 30D midweight stretch softshell: an 85% polyamide and 15% elastane face, a 100% polyurethane membrane and a 100% polyester backer, with a second shell panel in 100% polyester. That laminate carries the 10,000 mm / 10,000 g/m²/24h rating and the windproof claim, while the elastane gives the fabric movement in 4 directions. Inside, a 100% recycled polyester fleece lining sits next to the skin and provides the warmth. The seams are not sealed, which is the deliberate trade-off for a softer, stretchier pant. At the lower leg, Cordura® reinforcement takes the abuse from ski boot buckles and edges, and a RECCO® Rescue System reflector is built in.

Are the Stretch Bib Pants Women suitable for ski touring?

No. These Peak Performance bib pants are made for resort skiing and for lift-served off-piste in dry, cold snow. The fleece lining runs the full length of the leg and there are no thigh or inseam ventilation zips, so on a sustained climb heat has nowhere to go; the only way to regulate is to change what you wear underneath. On the piste that same construction is the advantage: the high bib and adjustable suspenders keep snow out on a chairlift fall, the snow gaiters with anti-slip elastic seal against the boot, and the zippered gussets at the hem let you pull the legs over ski or winter boots without fighting the fabric. Storage is one zippered front pocket, so a pass, a phone and a bar is roughly the limit.

What are the Stretch Bib Pants Women made of and how do you wash them?

Besides the softshell shell fabric, the linings combine 77% recycled polyamide with 23% elastane, 100% recycled polyester fleece and 100% polyamide. The elastane content is what makes the fabric stretch, and it is also why the wash regime matters: machine wash cold at 30°C, inside out, with zips closed and similar colours, and without fabric softener or bleach. A technical detergent keeps the water-repellent finish working. Tumble dry low or dry flat in the shade, and take the pants out of the machine promptly rather than leaving them wet in the drum.

What is the sustainability story behind these bib pants?

The Peak Performance Stretch Bib Pants Women are made without intentionally added PFAS, and two of the three lining materials use recycled content: 77% recycled polyamide in the stretch lining and 100% recycled polyester in the fleece.
