What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.

Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.

Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.

Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?

  • Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.

  • Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.

  • Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.

Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.

  • Returns are at your own risk and expense.
  • If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

Product information
  • 94 gsm recycled polyester jersey, around 150 g
  • Raised grid back panel stops sweaty cling
  • Made without intentionally added PFAS
  • No pockets at all
  • Relaxed cut, not a close-fitting base layer
  • No membrane: no wind or rain protection

The Peak Performance Trail Longsleeve Women is an ultralight long-sleeve technical t-shirt in a 94 gsm open-structure jersey, made for trail activity on foot or on the bike. It weighs around 150 grams, is built from 100% recycled polyester and has a raised grid structure across the back panel that keeps the fabric from clinging to you when you sweat.

Who is the Trail Longsleeve Women for?

This is a top for women who want one light, fast-drying long-sleeve layer for mountain biking, trail running and hiking in mild conditions. The Peak Performance Trail Longsleeve Women is not a cold-weather garment on its own, it offers no wind or rain protection, and with no pockets there is nowhere to stash keys or a gel. Skiers looking for a tight next-to-skin base layer should look elsewhere: the cut is relaxed, so the jersey does not sit against the skin under a shell.

How breathable and quick-drying is the fabric?

The fabric of the Trail Longsleeve Women is a 94 gsm open-structure jersey, which is about as light as a technical knit gets. It wicks moisture, dries quickly and stretches with you on the bike or on a climb. The raised grid on the back panel lifts the fabric away from wet skin, which is where a flat jersey normally sticks. There is no insulation and no membrane: this is a single light layer, and that is the whole point of it.

Which size should you choose?

Peak Performance cuts the Trail Longsleeve Women relaxed, so it hangs loose over the body rather than hugging it, with an elastic jersey cuff at the hem. It comes in S, M and L. Compare your measurements with the size chart on this page before ordering. Worn on its own in mild weather, or pulled on under a warmer top when the temperature drops.

What is the Trail Longsleeve Women made of?

The Peak Performance Trail Longsleeve Women is built around one fabric: an ultralight open-structure jersey weighing 94 grams per square metre, in 100% recycled polyester. The open knit structure is what makes the top breathe, and the polyester is what makes it dry fast and stretch with movement. Across the back panel the knit changes to a raised grid, which creates small air channels between skin and fabric so a sweaty back does not end up with wet jersey plastered to it. The whole garment weighs roughly 150 grams. There is no membrane, no coating and no insulation layer anywhere in the construction.

Is the Trail Longsleeve Women suitable for mountain biking and trail running?

Yes, that is exactly what it was drawn for: trail activity on wheels or on foot. On the bike the long sleeves cover your arms on a cool morning start without adding bulk, and the relaxed cut moves freely over the bars. On a trail run or a hike in mild conditions the 94 gsm jersey shifts sweat and dries quickly between efforts. Where the Trail Longsleeve Women stops is weather: with no membrane and no stated water repellency or wind resistance, a shower or an exposed ridge in wind calls for a shell over the top. In cold conditions treat it as a layer under something warmer, not as your outer piece. And since there are no pockets, plan on a pack or bib pockets for anything you need to carry.

How do you wash and care for it?

The shell is 100% recycled polyester in a single-layer jersey construction, which is light to handle but needs a gentle routine to keep the knit and the print intact. Machine wash the Trail Longsleeve Women at 40 °C on a delicate cycle, inside out and with similar colours. Skip the fabric softener, as it coats synthetic fibres and slows down the moisture transport you bought the top for. Do not bleach. Tumble dry on low or line dry in the shade. If you iron, use a cool iron and keep it off the print. Dry cleaning P on a delicate process and professional wet cleaning under a mild process are both possible. The care routine is restrictive on purpose: softener, heat and hot irons are what shorten the life of a light technical jersey.

How sustainable is this top?

Two concrete points. The shell of the Peak Performance Trail Longsleeve Women is 100% recycled polyester, and the garment is made without intentionally added PFAS. It is offered in Green Valley and Misty Lavender.
