A lined jacket contains a filling of down, wool or synthetic material.
What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 150 gsm jersey: 85% polyester, 15% merino wool
- Back pocket takes a gel or bar without a pack
- Flatlock seams keep ridges off shoulders
- Relaxed cut: not a snug next-to-skin layer
- 15% wool, not full merino odour control
- Wool programme, flat dry, no tumble drying
The Peak Performance Trail Wool-blend Longsleeve Men is a midweight long-sleeved technical tee in a 150 gsm jersey of 85% polyester and 15% merino wool, built for mountain biking in mild conditions. It works on its own or as a base layer under a midlayer or shell, and it carries a small back pocket for a bar or a gel. The cut is relaxed rather than skin-tight.
Who is this long-sleeved tee for?
The Trail Wool-blend Longsleeve from Peak Performance suits a mountain biker who wants one long-sleeved top for mild days on the trail, for mountain activities off the bike and for everyday wear. It is not a top for cold days worn alone: 150 gsm jersey carries no insulation. There is no membrane and no stated water repellency, so rain, snow and wind need an outer layer over it. If you want the odour control of a full merino base layer, note that the wool content here is 15%.
How does the 150 gsm wool blend handle sweat?
The fabric of this Peak Performance long-sleeved tee is an uncoated stretch jersey at 150 gsm: 85% polyester and 15% merino wool. Nothing is laminated to the knit, so air moves through it on fast, sweaty climbs. Flatlock seams lie flat and reduce chafing under a pack or a riding jersey. The relaxed cut keeps less constant contact with the skin than a close-fitting base-layer tee, which slightly reduces wicking efficiency.
Which size should you choose?
Peak Performance cuts this longsleeve relaxed, so it sits away from the body and leaves room over a thin layer or underneath a midlayer or shell. Use the Peak Performance size chart on this page and compare it with a long-sleeved top you already own. If you prefer a snug, compressive next-to-skin fit, this cut will feel looser than you expect.
How is the Peak Performance Trail Wool-blend Longsleeve constructed?
This is a single-layer garment: one 150 gsm jersey knit of 85% polyester and 15% merino wool, with no lining and no laminate. The polyester carries the structure and the abrasion resistance, the merino wool brings the hand-feel and behaviour of a natural fibre to the side that touches the skin. The knit has stretch, so the sleeves follow a reach forward onto the bars without pulling at the hem. Seams are flatlock, which means the two fabric edges are joined edge to edge instead of overlapped into a ridge, so nothing stands proud against your shoulders or ribs under a pack strap.
Is the Trail Wool-blend Longsleeve suitable for mountain biking?
Mountain biking in mild conditions is what this Peak Performance long-sleeved tee is set up for. Long sleeves cover the arms on wooded trails, the jersey vents freely on climbs, and the small back pocket takes a gel or a bar when you ride without a pack. That pocket sits exactly where a backpack or hydration pack rests, so with a pack on it is of limited use. Off the bike it works for hiking and other mountain activities, and as a base layer it sits happily under a midlayer or a shell. Where it stops is the weather: with no insulation, no membrane and no stated water repellency, this is a layer and not protection. Below freezing, or in rain, snow and wind, it needs something over it.
What materials is it made of and how do you care for it?
The fabric is 85% polyester and 15% merino wool in a midweight 150 gsm jersey. The wool content means the care routine is stricter than a pure synthetic tee: machine wash cold at 30 °C on the wool programme, turn the garment inside out, wash with similar colours and skip the fabric softener and bleach. Do not tumble dry. Dry it flat in the shade and reshape it while it is still damp so the jersey keeps its length and the shoulders stay square. Do not iron the garment or the print, and keep it away from dry cleaning and professional wet cleaning. Treated this way the knit holds its shape through a long season of riding.
What about PFAS?
The Trail Wool-blend Longsleeve Men is made without intentionally added PFAS. Since the garment relies on an untreated knit rather than a water-repellent finish, there is nothing on the surface that needs refreshing after washing.
