What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.

Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.

Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.

Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?

  • Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.

  • Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.

  • Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.

Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.

  • Returns are at your own risk and expense.
  • If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

The Peak Performance Whitelight Apx Jacket Women is an insulated two-layer ski jacket built for full days of resort skiing in cold, wet weather. A HIPE® hydrophobic PU membrane rated 10,000 mm / 10,000 g/m²/24h sits behind a 70D midweight 4-way stretch face fabric, with 60 g/m² insulation through the body and fully sealed seams. The combination that sets it apart is stretch plus ski hardware: a fixed powder skirt that snaps into your ski pants, a helmet-compatible hood and a RECCO® reflector.

Who is the Whitelight Apx Jacket Women for?

This is a jacket for the resort skier who wants one warm, stretchy, seam-sealed layer for lift days, with a ski-pass pocket, goggle wiper cloth and pant connection already built in. The Peak Performance Whitelight Apx Jacket Women is not the right choice if you earn your turns: on long, high-output ascents a fixed insulated shell with 60 g/m² body fill and 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability runs hot. It is also not a technical alpine shell, and not a standalone jacket for static cold without insulating layers underneath.

How warm and how waterproof is the Whitelight Apx?

Insulation is a mix of Solarcore® rubber foam, Pinneco Mantle™ and a 100% recycled polyester filling, stated at 60 g/m² across the body. That is moderate warmth: enough for cold lift days over a base layer and a thin midlayer, rather than deep-cold standing around. The HIPE® membrane gives 10,000 mm water column with fully sealed seams, which handles snow and showers; sustained heavy rain or wet spring snow is beyond mid-level protection. Zippered ventilation under the sleeves lets you dump heat on warmer days.

Which size should you choose?

The Whitelight Apx Jacket Women has a regular fit and comes in XS to XL. It is an insulated shell, so plan for a base layer and a thin to medium midlayer underneath. If you intend to wear a thick fleece or a down midlayer below it, compare your chest and hip measurements against the size chart on this page before ordering.

How is the Peak Performance Whitelight Apx Jacket Women built?

The construction is a two-layer system: a 70D midweight 4-way stretch face fabric bonded to a HIPE® hydrophobic PU membrane, rated 10,000 mm water column and 10,000 g/m²/24h, with every seam fully sealed. Inside, the insulation is layered rather than single-source — Solarcore® rubber foam and Pinneco Mantle™ work alongside a 100% recycled polyester filling, with 60 g/m² stated through the body. Two linings finish the inside: a 100% polyamide lining and a stretch lining of 89% polyamide and 11% elastane, body mapped so the panels that need to move with you do. A two-layer jacket with a full lining is heavier and less packable than a three-layer shell, which is the trade-off for that insulated, soft-handed feel.

Is the Whitelight Apx Jacket Women suitable for off-piste days?

Yes, within lift range. For resort and lift-accessed off-piste skiing, the Peak Performance Whitelight Apx Jacket Women has the details that matter on a powder day: a fixed powder skirt with a snap-in ski pant system, a fixed ski-helmet-compatible hood with a laminated brim and Cohæsive™ cord adjusters, elastic wrist gaiters with thumbholes, and a RECCO® reflector for searchability. A full-front two-way YKK AquaGuard® zipper and zippered hand, chest, ski-pass and inner pockets keep access simple with gloves on. Where it stops is the skin track: sustained climbing output pushes past what 60 g/m² of fixed insulation and 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability can clear, even with the underarm vents open. Insulation is stated for the body only, so for very cold, static days plan a warmer midlayer rather than relying on arm warmth.

What is it made of and how do you wash it?

Shell, linings, filling and pocket bags are all synthetic — polyamide, elastane, recycled polyester and rubber foam — which means the Whitelight Apx Jacket Women tolerates regular home washing and dries fast. Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle with liquid detergent and rinse twice; skip fabric softener and bleach. Close all zippers and remove the goggle wiper cloth first. Tumble dry on low after washing to reactivate the water-repellent treatment, or line drip dry in the shade. Do not iron, do not dry clean.

What are the sustainability credentials?

The jacket is made without intentionally added PFAS, and the main filling is 100% recycled polyester.
