What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.

Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.

Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.

Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?

  • Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.

  • Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.

  • Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.

Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

The Peak Performance Whitelight Insulated Jacket Men is an insulated two-layer ski jacket built for resort skiing in cold winter conditions. It pairs a waterproof HIPE® membrane rated 10.000 mm with 60 g/m² synthetic insulation in the body, sleeves and hood, so on a normal winter day you ski without a separate midlayer. What sets it apart is the body-mapped stretch construction: a 4-way stretch membrane in the zones that move most, a 2-way stretch fabric elsewhere.

Who is the Whitelight Insulated Jacket Men for?

This is a jacket for the resort skier who wants one warm, waterproof layer with ski-specific hardware: a fixed snow skirt that snaps into compatible ski pants, a RECCO® Rescue Reflector and a hood sized for a ski helmet. It also works for lift-served off-piste days and for cold, wet everyday winter wear. It is not the jacket for sustained uphill efforts such as ski touring, because the insulation is fixed and cannot be taken out, and not for technical alpine climbing.

How warm and waterproof is the Whitelight Insulated Jacket Men?

Insulation is 60 g/m² polyester fill in the body, in the sleeves and in the hood — mid-weight warmth for active skiing around and below freezing, not expedition-grade padding for standing still in deep cold. The two-layer HIPE® shell is rated 10.000 mm water column and 10.000 g/m²/24h, with fully seam sealed construction and YKK AquaGuard® zippers on all exposed closures. Those are mid-level figures: solid on cold, dry to moderately wet resort days, at their limit in persistent rain or warm, wet snow. Zippered underarm vents and the 2-way front zipper let you dump heat.

Which size should you choose in the Whitelight Insulated Jacket Men?

Peak Performance cuts this jacket in a regular fit, with articulated sleeves and a stretch lining. It is designed as an insulated shell: room for a base layer and, if you want it, a thin midlayer — not for a thick fleece or a down sweater underneath. Available in S, M, L, XL and 2XL. Check your chest measurement against the size chart on this page before ordering.

How is the Whitelight Insulated Jacket Men constructed?

The Peak Performance Whitelight Insulated Jacket Men uses a body-mapped two-layer build. Two shell fabrics are combined: a 75D midweight 2-way stretch face and a 70D midweight 4-way stretch face, both bonded to the brand's own HIPE® hydrophobic PU membrane at 10.000 mm / 10.000 g/m²/24h. The face fabric is 100% recycled polyester, the membrane 100% thermoplastic polyurethane. Behind it sits a body-mapped stretch lining rather than a loose mesh drop liner, with 60 g/m² polyester insulation quilted through body, sleeves and hood. All seams are fully sealed. The trade-off of a lined two-layer construction is weight and bulk: it packs down less than a three-layer shell.

Is the Whitelight Insulated Jacket Men suitable for a full day at the resort?

Yes — this is where the jacket is aimed. The fixed hood adjusts in two directions, height and width, and clears a ski helmet. The fixed snow skirt has a snap-in system for compatible Peak Performance ski pants, so jacket and pants work as one barrier in deeper snow. Storage is ski-oriented: zippered hand pockets, zippered chest pockets, a ski pass pocket on the sleeve, an inner pocket, an inner mesh stash pocket and a mesh phone pocket inside the chest pocket. Elastic wrist gaiters with thumbholes seal the sleeve under a glove, and a goggle wiper is built in. Where it stops: long climbs with skins. The insulation cannot be removed, so your only heat management is the underarm ventilation and the 2-way front zipper, and on a sustained ascent that is not enough.

What is the Whitelight Insulated Jacket Men made of and how do you wash it?

The outer face is 100% recycled polyester over a 100% thermoplastic polyurethane membrane, the filling is 100% polyester, and the two linings are 100% polyamide and an 89% polyamide / 11% elastane stretch blend — the elastane is what lets the lining follow the stretch of the shell. Wash the jacket at 40°C on a delicate cycle, inside out, with all zippers closed and with a technical detergent; fabric softener clogs the face fabric. Skip the iron, bleach, dry cleaning and professional wet cleaning. A low tumble dry after washing reactivates the water-repellent treatment on the face fabric, which is what keeps the outer surface from wetting out.

How sustainable is the Whitelight Insulated Jacket Men?

Two concrete points. The shell face fabric is 100% recycled polyester, and the jacket is made without intentionally added PFAS. Peak Performance builds the Whitelight line around longevity, and washing with the right detergent is the single thing that keeps the water repellency working over seasons.
