More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- HIPE® 2-layer, 10.000 mm, fully seam sealed
- 60 g/m² Pinneco Mantle™ fill, 40 g/m² in hood
- Snow skirt snaps into ski pants; RECCO® built in
- No ventilation zips: heat builds on mild days
- Slim cut: little room for a thick midlayer
- Fixed hood and fixed insulation, hip-length only
The Peak Performance Whitelight Insulated Short Jacket Women is a two-layer insulated ski jacket for cold resort days, built on a HIPE® membrane rated 10.000 mm water column and 10.000 g/m²/24h breathability. Pinneco Mantle™ synthetic insulation sits behind a 70D four-way stretch face fabric: 60 g/m² in the body, 40 g/m² in the hood. The cut is short and slim, hip-length with a slightly dropped hem.
Who is this jacket for?
It suits a skier who rides lift-served terrain, wants a close-fitting insulated jacket with a helmet-compatible hood, a snow skirt and a ski-pant connection, and accepts mid-range weather protection in exchange for stretch and low bulk. The Whitelight Insulated Short Jacket Women is not built for high-output uphill days: the insulation is fixed and no ventilation zips are fitted. If you want thigh-length coverage or a hood you can detach, look at a different model.
How warm and how waterproof is it?
The HIPE® membrane is rated 10.000 mm water column with 10.000 g/m²/24h breathability, and every seam is sealed. YKK AquaGuard® exposed zippers, including the front zipper, keep water out at the openings. That is solid cold-weather piste protection rather than storm-shell protection: in prolonged heavy rain or wet snow a 20.000 mm shell goes further. With 60 g/m² in the body and 40 g/m² in the hood, warmth is moderate — comfortable while you are moving, and best supported by an extra layer for long static spells in deep frost.
Which size should you choose?
The Whitelight Insulated Short Jacket Women has a slim cut and comes in XS, S, M, L and XL. It is made to go over base layers, a midlayer and back protection, but the slim lines leave limited room for a thick fleece underneath. Check the Peak Performance size chart on this page before ordering.
How is the Whitelight Insulated Short Jacket Women constructed?
Peak Performance builds this insulated ski jacket as a two-layer package: a 70D midweight face fabric with four-way stretch, bonded to the brand's own HIPE® membrane at 10K/10K, with Pinneco Mantle™ synthetic insulation behind it and a body-mapped stretch lining against the skin side. All seams are fully sealed, so the 10.000 mm rating applies to the whole garment and not just the fabric panels. Insulation is zoned — 60 g/m² through the body and 40 g/m² in the hood — which keeps the helmet-compatible hood from becoming heavy while the core stays warm. A RECCO® Rescue System reflector is built in. Because the insulation is fixed, the jacket cannot be stripped back to a plain shell when the weather turns mild.
Is it suitable for resort skiing and freeride laps?
Resort skiing in cold conditions is the core use. The fixed snow skirt snaps into compatible Peak Performance ski pants, the hood takes a ski helmet and has a laminated brim, and the elastic wrist gaiters with thumbholes close the gap to your gloves. A goggle wiper, zippered chest pockets, a ski pass pocket and a zippered inner pocket cover a lift day. For lift-served freeride laps the four-way stretch and the short, hip-length cut give room to move without fabric bunching over a harness or back protector. Where the Whitelight Insulated Short Jacket Women stops is uphill work: with no pit zips and insulation you cannot remove, heat has nowhere to go on a skin track or a mild spring afternoon.
What is it made of and how do you wash it?
The filling is 100% recycled polyester and the lining is 100% polyamide, a smooth face that lets the jacket slide over a midlayer. The 70D face fabric is a midweight construction, heavier than a lightweight touring shell and built to take chairlift seats, pack straps and daily resort use. Machine wash at 30 °C on a delicate cycle with liquid detergent and rinse twice; skip the fabric softener, which clogs the membrane. Close all zippers first and take the goggle wipe cloth out before the wash. Tumble dry on low, or drip dry in the shade out of direct sunlight. Do not iron, wring, bleach or dry clean.
What about sustainability?
This Peak Performance ski jacket is made without intentionally added PFAS, and the insulation is 100% recycled polyester.
