More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 120 g/m² body insulation for deep cold days
- 15,000 mm HIPE® shell, fully seam sealed
- RECCO® reflector and snap-in snow skirt
- 1.31 kg: too heavy and warm for ski touring
- Fixed insulation, only underarm vents to cool
- Offered in XS to L only
The Peak Performance Women 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka is an insulated two-layer ski parka for resort skiing in cold conditions, built on a HIPE® 4-way stretch shell rated 15,000 mm water column and fully seam sealed. The insulation is already inside: synthetic sheet insulation at 120 g/m² over the body and 100 g/m² in the sleeves and hood. What sets it apart from a standard ski jacket is the cut — a deliberately longer, wider parka with workwear-style detailing, a fixed snow skirt with snap-in ski pant system and a RECCO® reflector.
Who is this parka for?
The Peak Performance Women 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka suits a resort skier who skis on genuinely cold days, wants a roomy parka length rather than a close-cut shell, and prefers built-in warmth plus full ski features over the lightest possible garment. It also works as a cold-weather winter coat in town. It is not for ski touring or other uphill days, not for mild spring skiing, and not for climbing or scrambling, where the length, the 1.31 kg weight and the snow skirt get in the way.
How warm and how waterproof is it?
Warmth comes from fixed synthetic sheet insulation: 120 g/m² across the body, 100 g/m² in the sleeves and 100 g/m² in the hood, which places the Peak Performance Women 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka in cold-weather territory rather than spring territory. The HIPE® membrane carries a 15,000 mm water column and 20,000 g/m²/24h breathability, with every seam sealed and YKK AquaGuard® on the exposed zippers. The insulation cannot be removed, so on warmer days the only adjustment is the zipped ventilation under the sleeves.
Which size should you choose?
The fit is relaxed: slightly longer and wider through the body and sleeves than a standard ski jacket, so a midlayer fits underneath without going up a size. Worn over a base layer and, if needed, a midlayer, since this is the outer layer. The hood is ski-helmet compatible and adjusts for height and width. This configuration runs XS to L only. Check the size chart on this page against your own measurements before ordering.
What does the two-layer HIPE® construction do?
The Peak Performance Women 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka pairs a HIPE® membrane of 100% polyurethane with a separate lining of 100% recycled polyester — a two-layer build, not a bonded three-layer shell. The face fabric is 90% recycled polyamide with 10% elastane, which is where the 4-way stretch comes from: the shell moves when you reach for a lift bar or roll your shoulders through a turn. Protection is 15,000 mm water column and 20,000 g/m²/24h moisture vapour transfer, with fully sealed seams, a 2-way reversed coil YKK front zipper and YKK AquaGuard® on the exposed zippers. The honest cost of this construction is mass: 1.31 kg, more than a three-layer shell of the same rating.
Is this parka suitable for off-piste skiing?
For lift-accessed off-piste and resort freeride, the Peak Performance Women 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka has the hardware for it: a fixed snow skirt with a snap-in ski pant system, zippered ventilation under the sleeves, a two-way adjustable hood with a laminated brim that fits over a ski helmet, elastic wrist gaiters with thumbholes, adjustable sleeve hems with hook-and-loop straps, and a RECCO® Rescue System reflector. Where it stops is uphill work and sustained foul weather. The 120 g/m² body insulation and parka length trap too much heat for touring even with the vents open, and for multi-day alpine use in heavy wet weather a three-layer shell with a higher water column is the better tool.
What is it made of and how do you wash it?
Composition of the Peak Performance Women 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka: shell face 90% recycled polyamide and 10% elastane, membrane 100% polyurethane, lining 100% recycled polyester, filling 100% polyester. Pocket bags are 100% polyester and a 96% polyamide / 4% elastane blend; the cups are 77% polyamide with 23% elastane. Wash at 40 °C on a delicate cycle, inside out, with all zippers closed and a technical detergent — household detergent and fabric softener both leave residue that works against the water-repellent treatment. A low tumble dry after washing helps restore that treatment. Take the ski goggle wipe cloth out before the wash, and remove the parka from the machine promptly.
How much recycled material is in this parka?
The shell face fabric of the Peak Performance Women 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka is 90% recycled polyamide and the lining is 100% recycled polyester, so the two largest fabric areas of the garment are predominantly recycled. The synthetic sheet insulation is 100% polyester. Longevity is part of the same argument: washing with a technical detergent and tumble drying low keeps the water repellency working, which keeps the parka in use for more seasons.
