More informationWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. - Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 40 g/m² recycled PrimaLoft® Silver body fill
- 250 grams and packable for the skin track
- 2-way stretch soft shell panels at the sides
- No sleeves, no hood: core warmth only
- Water resistant only, needs a shell in rain
- Offered in S, M and L only
The Peak Performance Women Radiance Hybrid Vest is a packable insulated vest with 40 g/m² recycled PrimaLoft® Silver insulation across the body and uninsulated stretch soft shell panels at the sides. It weighs 250 grams and is built to keep your core warm while you keep moving — ski touring, a resort day under a shell, or a round of golf. The hybrid layout is the whole idea: insulation where you lose heat, stretch where you work.
Who is this vest for?
The Radiance Hybrid Vest suits a woman who wants light core warmth she can pull on over a base layer or midlayer and compress into a pack when the climb starts. It is not a cold-weather garment: with no sleeves and no hood, it is made for activity rather than for standing still at a lift. If you want arm insulation, the jacket version of this style is the better choice, as it carries thicker padding.
How warm is the Peak Performance Radiance Hybrid Vest?
Body insulation is 40 g/m² recycled PrimaLoft® Silver, placed by body mapping, so warmth sits over the chest and back while the side panels stay open for heat to escape. The ultralight recycled nylon ripstop face fabric is wind and water resistant and carries a PFC-free DWR treatment, which handles dry snow and light drizzle. For sustained rain or wet snow you need a waterproof shell over the top.
Which size should you choose?
The cut is a regular fit, so there is room for a base layer or a thin midlayer underneath, and the vest still slides under a shell jacket. It comes in S, M and L. Check the size chart on this page against your own chest and waist measurements before you order.
How is the Radiance Hybrid Vest constructed?
Peak Performance builds the Radiance Hybrid Vest around body mapping. The chest and back carry 40 g/m² recycled PrimaLoft® Silver synthetic insulation under an ultralight recycled nylon ripstop face fabric; the sides are panels of light soft shell with 2-way stretch and no padding. The result is a vest of 250 grams that moves with your torso instead of bunching under a pack strap. A 2-way YKK reversed coil zipper runs the full front, the collar is cut low so it does not interfere with a helmet strap or a shell collar, and the hem finishes with elastic binding. Storage is generous for a vest: zippered hand pockets, a zippered chest pocket, a zippered inner pocket and an inner mesh stash pocket, plus a glove loop.
Is the Radiance Hybrid Vest suitable for ski touring?
Yes — as an insulation layer rather than a shell. On a skin track the vest keeps your core warm while the open stretch flanks dump the heat your arms and sides generate, and it packs down when you overheat. At the transition it works as a belay layer over a midlayer, and on a cold resort day it goes under a hardshell as extra chest warmth. Where it stops is clear: there is no hood, no powder skirt and no waterproof rating, so it is not a standalone resort jacket. The soft shell side panels are the least wind- and water-resistant part of the vest, which you will notice in a crosswind. In sustained rain or wet snow, put a shell over it.
What is the Radiance Hybrid Vest made of and how do you wash it?
The main shell is 100% recycled polyamide; the stretch side panels are 52% recycled polyamide, 36% polyamide and 12% elastane; the lining is 100% recycled polyamide and the filling is 100% recycled polyester. Synthetic insulation is the practical choice here, because it keeps working when it gets damp and it survives a machine wash. Wash at 40 °C on a delicate cycle with a technical detergent, which is what keeps the water repellent treatment working, and skip fabric softener — it clogs the fibres that make the DWR effective. Close the zippers first, line dry in the shade or tumble dry on low, and take the vest out of the machine promptly so the ripstop does not set creases.
What makes this a more responsible choice?
Shell, lining and filling are all built on recycled fibres, including a 100% recycled polyester fill and recycled polyamide face and lining fabrics. The water repellent finish is PFC-free. For a packable vest that gets washed regularly, that combination matters more than a single claim on the hangtag.
