- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.

2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

The Mountain Studio Z-2 EPE GORE-TEX ePE 3L Shell Jacket is an uninsulated three-layer hard shell for men, built for off-piste and backcountry skiing in wet, windy alpine weather. It carries a 30,000 mm waterproof rating and a GORE-TEX ePE membrane produced without added PFAS. It has no insulation at all, so all of its warmth comes from the layers you wear underneath.
Who is the Z-2 EPE shell jacket for?
This jacket suits a skier or snowboarder who already owns midlayers and wants one fully waterproof shell that covers resort days, touring and off-piste days in harsh weather. It is not the jacket for wearing on its own in the cold, and not for anyone who wants a women's-specific pattern: the Z-2 EPE is made in men's sizing only. If you need a confirmed RECCO reflector, a powder skirt or a stated packed size, note that none of these are confirmed for this style.
How waterproof and breathable is the Z-2 EPE?
The Mountain Studio Z-2 EPE uses a 3-layer GORE-TEX ePE laminate rated at 30,000 mm water column, with fully taped seams and waterproof zippers, so sustained sleet and wet snow stay out. Underarm ventilation zippers let you dump heat on a climb without opening the front. The water-repellent finish on the face fabric needs periodic reactivation by tumble drying on low heat; skip that and the outer fabric will wet out and feel heavier.
Which size should you choose in the Z-2 EPE?
The cut is regular and ergonomic, shaped to leave room for a midlayer underneath, and the storm hood fits over a helmet. Body measurements per size are available in the size chart, in sizes XS to 2XL. Size up if you plan to wear thicker midlayers. If you normally buy women's sizes, size down.
How is the Z-2 EPE GORE-TEX ePE 3L Shell Jacket built?
The Mountain Studio Z-2 EPE is a three-layer construction: a face fabric, the GORE-TEX ePE membrane and a soft flannel backer, bonded into one laminate. There is no separate lining; the flannel is the inner face of the laminate itself, which keeps the jacket thin against a midlayer and avoids the clammy feel of a bare membrane. Every seam is taped and the zippers are waterproof, so the two most common leak paths on a ski jacket are closed. The membrane blocks wind as well as water, and the construction is reinforced for long-term use.
Is the Z-2 EPE suitable for ski touring and off-piste days?
Off-piste and backcountry skiing is what this shell jacket is designed around, with lift-served resort skiing, snowboarding and everyday wet, windy weather as secondary uses. On a tour, the underarm ventilation zippers handle the heat of the climb and the ergonomic cut allows arm movement with poles or an axe overhead; the helmet-compatible storm hood goes up when the weather turns on the descent. Two deep chest pockets sit above a hip belt or harness line, with hand pockets below. Where the Z-2 EPE stops: it gives you no warmth on its own. On a cold lift ride or a long stop, your insulation has to come from an insulated midlayer underneath.
What is the Z-2 EPE made of and how do you wash it?
The outer is a GORE-TEX ePE 3-layer laminate with a flannel backer. Fibre composition, percentages and garment weight are not published for this style, so if you compare shells on grams or denier you will not find those figures here. Care is straightforward: machine wash at 40 °C on a gentle cycle, inside out and separately, with all fasteners closed, using a mild detergent. No bleach, no fabric softener, no dry cleaning. Iron on low if needed, and tumble dry on low heat afterwards to reactivate the water-repellent finish. Doing that after every few washes is what keeps the face fabric shedding water instead of soaking it up.
What makes the Z-2 EPE a more sustainable shell jacket?
The GORE-TEX ePE membrane in the Z-2 EPE is produced without added PFAS. The Seneca Rock and Grenadine pages state that recycled materials are used in the construction and that a repair kit is included; the percentage of recycled content is not specified, and those two claims are not repeated for the Forest Green and Black Onyx colourways. The reinforced, repairable construction is the core of the approach: a jacket meant for a long service life rather than seasonal replacement.
